I became a professional photographer 15 years ago because I really enjoyed the social aspects of photography and I definitely did not want to work in a cubicle for 30 years. So I finished my degree in business and started at the back of the line.

I suppose am what you would call a "lifestyle entrepreneur" (anyone who starts a business not for financial gains, but for lifestyle rewards).

I love photography and beautiful 1970s vibe photos but I am also strongly drawn to (and influenced by) the lifestyle-freedom living in Southern California.

I live near the beach and I can surf every day. I love coffee, running with my dogs (mutts) and spending time with my crazy boys and beautiful wife. I already have it all. Every day photography is different and I love meeting all the diverse characters photography offer me.

Over and over I am told that you MUST specialize in one aspect of photography to be successful and respected. However, my path contradicts that wisdom. I've been really fortunate to shoot magazine fashion, many covers and advertising photography for big clients. Yes, some of the fashion models really do "look like that"... most don't (Photoshop). Does my wife get upset? No we have been together a long time.

Yes I even photograph "real people" also and do wedding photography (How can it be? I thought you were a "fashion photographer") and famiy portrait photography . I just love being around people and talking to people. That is when I am most happy.

 

No I am not from Australia -and don't worry, that doesn't offend me... I am from New Zealand. Why would I leave "such a beautiful place"? California is the land of opportunity and I love the weather and access to the surf! As my mentor Brian Tracy says: you never hear about the "German dream" or" New Zealand dream" for that matter...

Jason was an absolute pleasure to work with! It was our first time producing/organizing a photo shoot, and Jason really made us feel comfortable and walked us through the whole process. He was extremely professional and also very helpful and flexible by letting us come into his studio before and after the shoot to set up and pick up our inventory. He managed to get the best shots out of the models by making them feel comfortable. Due to his past experience, he was a great asset to our photo shoot and we amazingly got through 75 pieces hasslefree. Most of all, Jason was very cooperative with our whole team and extremely patient as it was our first shoot. He made the process of our photo shoot seamless and easy. One thing I can say for sure, is that the Borrow it Bindaas Team can't wait to work with him again for our upcoming shoots!

I would recommend Jason to anybody looking for a photographer. I used him to take
photographs of 5 people in his studio for my company marketing material. Jason did

Jason is an excellent photographer and simply a wonderful human being with a
knack for seeing things in his subjects that others don't pick up on. The result is a
photo that captures you from the inside out. He is skilled at making his subjects feel

AMAZING, PROFESSIONAL & FUN! I got married this past July and for my gift for my
husband, I wanted to give him a fun photo book. I've never done any sort of modeling
or photography so I was a little nervous. Jason was recommended to me by a friend

were going to turn out. First of Jason, was totally professional about it and made me
feel 100% comfortable. Also he had a ton of good suggestions for me and knew how to

Lucky to have found such a wonderful photographer!! We really enjoyed having Jason
take our family photos not to mention how pleased we are with the results! His easy-
going down to earth personality made us feel comfortable and we could be ourselves.
Seeing the photos that he had taken of other families really caught my attention. They
weren't posed pictures but he actually captured the moment as if you were there with
them. His work speaks for itself...AMAZING!! The entire transaction from my initial
email all the way through to the developed photos couldn't have been any smoother.

Consumate Professional Who Goes Above and...‎‎ It was a real pleasure
to work with Jason. We had to do a photo shoot with 5 models and over 100 different
outfits. It was a big project and we needed to get it done right. Previously I would shoot
out of my garage...the results where ok...but luckily we found Jason. Jason Wallis and
his studio are a great combo. Jason shot for the first 3 hours and then showed me
everything that I needed to do to finish the shoot on my own. From lighting and camera
set up to using Adobe Lightroom for capture and editing. I was thrilled to work with
Jason. He helped us in so many ways...including coming in on budget and on time ;-
). Jason went above and beyond and brought our product photos and our resulting
image out of the dark ages and into the space ages in no time at all. I'm so happy that
we found you and look forward to working with you in the future. If you have a business

AWESOME! 5 STARS!! ‎‎ I had the opportunity to work with Jason about
4 months ago. He was wonderful and the pictures turned out amazing. He was so
professional and was able to capture all the right angles. I was not as experienced as
some other models so he was able to give me the right direction and really bring the

Extremely Satisfied! By The Gonzalez Family‎‎ I wanted family photos at the
beach and was searching online for OC photographers. Jason's photos stood out
because of the candidness, the lighting and images he photographed. I took a chance
and it was the best decision I made! He is very professional, made us feel at ease, was
quick to respond back to my inquiry, and the photos were in my hands within 48 hrs. I
love all the photos, but what amazed me was that the beach was full of people and in
the photos it looks like we had the beach to ourselves. One photo looks like we were on
a tropical island instead of Laguna. It was a great experience working with him and the

Jason Wallis - A Top Quality Service...‎‎ I found Jason's information while doing
research for a photographer around the OC area. I am NO model and had NEVER had

This Kiwi Photographer Rocks!!!‎‎ I couldn't of dreamed up a better photographer than
Jason Wallis!!! Shooting with Jason was such a breeze! Jason photographed our
wedding and the pictures came out AWESOME!!!! So beautiful and unique...not your
typical boring wedding photos. The only downside is EVERY picture is Great so you

Awesome experience and great photography‎‎ Really enjoyed working with Jason for
a baby bump photo shoot. He is truly an expert, does amazing work, made me feel
comfortable, and I will certainly use him again. Jason was very easy to work with, if I

Fabulous Family Photos, Great Service!!‎‎ Our family travels from the midwest to
Newport Beach a couple of times a year. We love it there and thought having some
family photos taken on the beach would be a great way to capture our memories. I'm
so glad we chose Jason for the job. I contacted several other area photographers just
to compare. Not only was Jason's portfolio better, he was the only one who consistently
responded to my emails in a timely manner. Communication remained smooth and
easy throughout the process. He is a such nice guy and so easy to work with--not at all

The Most Incredible Unique Wedding Photos!!!‎‎ Jason Wallis photographed our
wedding and we were in absolute shock when we saw the photos. Not only are they
beautiful, but they are also unique and FUN... so different from other wedding photos
we have seen. His passion and love for photography stands out in every picture. We
had such a good time with Jason and we cannot wait for him to photograph us again in

AWESOME EXPERIENCE!‎‎ I asked Jason to shoot a cover for an EP release
on iTunes and hoped to come out with at least ONE good shot to use. Back to that in a
second..I came in slightly nervous and unsure of whether we would vibe etc etc.. Well,
when we finally met all of that went away. He was the nicest, most personable, easy
going professional I've met in a long time. He made me feel comfortable and confident
in front of the camera by guiding me through each movement. I couldn't be more happy

The Best Wedding photgrapher in Orange County‎‎ Jason has the ability to
capture a loving, happy couple with their best foot forward. I feel very confident in
saying that because I am very critical of my pictures and have a tendency not to like any
pictures taken by any photographers. Jason changed my mind. He was able to show
our outgoing, loving personalities, and he actually made it hard to choose which pictures

Best of the Best!‎‎ Jason's the best! We researched many photographers in the area
(and there are a lot!), but we were really impressed with his body of work and his
excellant reviews. He has a fantastic eye for original and candid photos which was

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!‎‎ I am just a regular girl, not a model or anything,

Great Photographer‎‎ Jason has been taking our family photos annually for the
last 5 years. Each year he amazes us with the results. His shot locations are always
inventive and provide incredible backgrounds. Jason's sense of light is wonderful and

Very Talented‎‎ While researching photographers for a corporate headshot I
came across Jason's website. I needed the headshot for a visit to Goldman Sachs that

Amazing photos‎‎ For my first holidays to US West Coast - I'm from Germany- I
searched the web for a photographer with a unique style in the L.A. region and found
Jason's website. I immediately loved his pictures and knew he is the one to choose. I
felt very comfortable from the first second I met him on the day of the shooting. Jason
was able to implement my ideas into great photos, though he didn't know before we
met. The whole day was easy going and I had a lot of fun. It was great to feel like a
model for one day. It is really hard to pick out the best pictures since they are all great.
I never had pictures that come close to them. Next time I come back to O.C. I will
definitely work with Jason again. I can recommend him without a doubt. For everybody

WOW! Exceeded my high expectations!‎‎ Jason is nothing short of amazing, we worked
together for a fashion shoot and he made all the models just come to life thru his lense.

After several family holidays to Newport Beach, we decided to get a family picture this time around.
